Shagreen Desk Clock
Our desk clock uses embossed paper imported from France to create a simulated shagreen finish. A decorative material used since the reign of King Louis XV, shagreen gained mainstream popularity in the 1920s. The jade-green paper is heavily lacquered and then applied to the box, resulting in a beautifully textured, hard finish. Black lacquer edges and a velvet-lined interior and base complete the piece. The back has a pull-tab closure allowing for easy access to the quartz clock.
