Our 100% Australian wool needlepoint with petit point detail pillows are a reproduction of an original series of paintings by American artist Cassius Marcellus Coolidge in 1903. Commissioned by Minnesota advertising firm Brown & Bigelow, he created a series of sixteen paintings, all of anthropomorphized dogs, nine of which are sitting around a table playing cards. The two most famous of these paintings are reproduced here, "A Bold Bluff," pictured left, and "Waterloo," pictured right. Bordered by a winter wheat 100% cotton tasseled and looped fringe and corded border, our pillows have a cocoa velvet zippered case with feather and down insert.
