This oversized print of Captain Ricketts, a reproduction from the original by Benjamin Marshall (1768 - 1835) is a lovely example of popular sporting paintings during the early 19th century. Shown here on his hunter, "Mask," Captain Ricketts is out on a fox hunt southwest of London , in Hampshire. The seven hounds running astride him move with alerted quickness as they lead him towards the fox.
